All visitors to Fiji must have a current passport valid for more than three months from the date of entry, return or ongoing air tickets and adequate funds for their support. Permits are granted at the airport on arrival for a stay of four months and may be extended for up to six months.
Entry visas are granted on arrival for a stay of up to 4 months or less for nationals of certain countries, click here for full list.
Nationals of other countries require prearranged visas, which can be applied for at the nearest Fiji High Commission in their respective country. Visas may be extended on application to the Department of Immigration in Suva, Lautoka or Nadi. It is necessary to have an onward or return ticket and sufficient funds. Those wishing to stay more than six months should consult the Department of Immigration.
On occasion passengers do have to stay overnight to catch the connecting flight to Taveuni the following day. In such circumstances, we recommend either the Fiji Mocambo Hotel or the Raffles Gateway Hotel in Nadi. These are both very close to the airport and the accomodation and facilities are quite acceptable. Should you wish to stay in a top end, more luxurious hotel, then the more upmarket Sheraton Royal Denarau Resort, situated about 20 minutes from the airport, would be more appropriate.
